PREVIOUS EVENTS – 2023

2023 was better from a COVID point of view, but still too few outings and members attending!

Sunday 10th June – Philadelphia breakfast run

Ross arranged a great breakfast run to Philadelphia – unfortunately 4 of the 9 starters (literally) had problems, but those that made it through had a great albeit chilly morning.

Friday, Saturday and Sunday 22/23/24 September – Cobra Club of SA visit

About 50 Cobras belonging to the Cobra Club of SA descended on Cape Town for a long weekend event. Unfortunately the Cape weather threw up a red warning so only the Friday get together at Canal Walk, and the mountain passes drive on the Saturday we able to proceed. It was super to meet with the guys from the north, and many locals joined the drive on Saturday which included Bains Kloof, Du Toits Kloof, Franschhoek Motor Museum (60 Cobras), Franschhoek pass, and Clarens Drive. That evening, the Cape experienced unbelievable rain, causing Franschhoek pass and Clarens Drive to be closed for many weeks! The Sunday drive over Chappies was cancelled as Chappies too was closed.

Sunday 5th November – Killarney Motor Show

Superb weather for another good show at Killarney race track. Unfortunately only 6 of us made it for our stand, but nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves. The show has lots to see, so the day passes fairly quickly. Not quite as many exotic cars as in the past with now many “souped” up cars outnumbering the real classics.
